The Foundation was established to promote technical and social skill development as we rebuild our neighborhoods. We have identified common problems that exist in small rural communities in North Carolina and will concentrate our efforts on these obstacles:  High Drop out rates, lack of technical resources, vacant homes, high crime rates and violence. Our focus areas will be neighborhood revitalization, youth mentoring, apprenticeship, technical & social skill development.

Actively we have identified areas of need in our community and worked even harder to create solutions. Through our community involvement, mentoring, community programs we will stay active in trying to make a change.

Building was a major project in our neighborhood revitalization phase.  Through our personal efforts we have been able to acquire and renovate a once run down, vacant home in the heart of the community.  We have taken what was once considered an eyesore and transformed it to a neighborhood resource.  Now it serves as a community center, study hall, conference room and computer lab.

Learning doesn't have an age limit, so we will provide classes to all ages. Computer training, web page development, after school tutoring, college financial aid classes, social skill development are some of the classes and seminars that will be offered as part of our Learning component.

Environments are key to learning.  The community will have a computer and technical resource center which will provide computer repair, the ability to send faxes, make copies, apply for jobs online and have documents notarized.  Giving everyone the opportunity to play a part in the classroom and computer setup will teach a skill, as well as give each participant a sense of pride through involvement.
